Getting to The Rose & Crown

By Car:
From M25, J17 or J18, follow signs for Northwood, the Aquadrome and then Harefield. Keep going past Tesco and then Woodcock Hill Cemetery. The Rose & Crown is 1.5 miles up Harefield Rd on the right, at the top of a very long hill on a sharp right hand bend.

From A40 (London) take the junction to Harefield (Swakely's Roundabout). Follow signs to Harefield and then drive through the village. At the mini roundabout keep the Kings Arms  on your left hand side and the common on your right. Drive past the NHS hospital and keep going straight until you come to the Rose & Crown on a sharp left hand bend. The car park is just past the pub on the left.

From Stanmore From Stanmore Head west on Uxbridge Rd/A410 toward Bowls Close. Continue to follow A410 and go through 5 roundabouts
After 2.9 miles at the sixth roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Uxbridge Rd/A404. Continue to follow A404. Go through 1 more roundabout and pass Mount Vernon hospital on your left
Turn left at White Hill (just in front of the Olde Green Man Pub)
After 0.8 miles White Hill turns slightly right and becomes Northwood Rd
After 0.1 mile turn right at Shrubs Road
After 0.7 miles there is a T junction and the pub is opposite you. Continue straight onto Harefield Rd
The pub car park is immediately on the left

By Train:
Either Metropolitan underground line (frequent tubes ~ 25 min from Baker St.), or Chiltern Railways (Aylesbury Line) from Marylebone station, to Rickmansworth.  You will probably need a minicab (Boughton's car hire tel: 01923 777123) to take you from there to The Rose & Crown. The mini cab will cost about £5.00 and take about 4 minutes. You can also take a pleasant walk up the hill - give Adrian or Mark a call and we will give you directions.
